OUR STORY

Direct Messenger Service (DMS) originally started in Los Angeles, California in 1967.  DMS came to Kansas City in 1970 with original owner Harold Beaham.  At that time the only way companies had to get same day local delivery of packages in Kansas City was by taxi cab. So DMS became the first delivery service in the city.

WHO WE ARE

Direct Messenger Service, Inc. began serving the Kansas City area in 1967.  As of October 1, 2022, Ray retired and we became part of Via Courier, a locally owned third generation family business.

Our Operations Team has many years of dispatching experience. This gives our customers confidence that their needs will be taken care of efficiently. Every delivery request is entered into our database and assigned a sequential trip number for that day. If there is any question pertaining to a delivery, whether it is enroute or from a previous month, we have all the information at our fingertips as do our valuable clients when they access our online order tracking page on our website.

Our flexible billing process allows us to tailor our billing to meet each customer’s specific needs. Our invoices provide billing detail including date, trip number and brief description of the individual call. We can also supply specific information pertaining to each customer such as department names, reference numbers, job codes or any other information that may be requested.
